A mentorship program for women in graphic design

Womentor is a global mentorship program for women in graphic design that exists to improve gender equality in the design industry.

The program provides personalised mentorships by bringing together senior designers with creative directors and design leaders, supporting and empowering mentees with the tools and confidence to take control of their creativity, careers, and future.

Womentor is an independent initiative founded and run by Mirella Arapian, founder and creative director of Melbourne-based design studio Mek and co-host of Australian Design Radio.

Launched on International Women's Day 2018, the program started in Melbourne and due to growing demand ran nationally in the same year. In 2019 it launched internationally across 5 continents, and after 3 successful programs has changed the lives of over 40 women. Womentor continues to be the only mentorship program of its kind in the world.

While there are many excellent programs and initiatives available to students, graduates, and junior and mid designers, support for women in senior design roles is sorely lacking. Womentor aims to bridge this gap.
